Personal Statement

I appreciate the opportunity to serve on the Staff Advisory Board and help promote the interests and well-being of staff employees. I have worked as the Internal Audit Analyst for the past 4+ years and have been a member of the Santa Cruz community most of my life. 

In the short time that I’ve worked at the university I have been amazed at the teamwork and willingness to help others on and off campus. The friendships, working relationships, and sense of community are what gave me the desire to join the Board and give it my best.

Prior to taking the position at UCSC I managed my own web design business and worked as a Post-Secondary software instructor for a local adult school. We worked closely with the Employment Development Department (EDD) and Workforce Santa Cruz County improving computer skills for adults needing to change careers (after sometimes life changing events). Outside of work I have continued to serve the community by volunteering for special projects.

I look forward to assisting the board in whatever capacity is needed to help increase staff morale and institute positive change for the future during these very tough economic times.
