Personal Statement

My name is Lesa Stollenwerk and I have been working at UCSC since November of 1991.  I started in the Purchasing Department, spent 11 years in Risk Management, and for the last 5 years I have been a Supervisor in the Accounts Payable Department at the 2300 Delaware Building.  I have seen many changes on our campus over the years and been on many a committee.   I am proud to have been elected to serve the employees at UCSC on the Staff Advisory Board (SAB).

I joined the SAB so I could re-connect with the people and the Mission of the University.  I am very happy to have the opportunity to serve the campus for the next 3 years.  I believe this is a great opportunity to be able to have a direct voice to the Chancellor and be a part of educating staff about important issues that affect our everyday lives. 

I am the mother of a very wonderful young man who is now going to college and working toward his life goals.  I strive to be a positive role model in his life, teach him how to be on his own, and I have passed on my most important lesson from my Grandmother  …The Golden Rule – Treat others like you want to be treated.  I enjoy living in the beautiful Santa Cruz Mountains, love to be in nature and be outside.  I am an artist and musician in my spare time and enjoy working with our seniors through the “Meals On Wheels” program.
I look forward to being part of an excellent team of dedicated employees who care about the Mission of our Institution.
